Travel Vaccinations in Southampton: What We Offer

Your Trusted Partner in Travel & Occupational Health

Comprehensive Travel Vaccinations

Different places need different vaccines, and some trips may need more than one dose for full protection. Vaccines like hepatitis, typhoid, rabies, and Japanese encephalitis are often suggested based on your destination and trip length.

Certified Yellow Fever Vaccination Centre

Yellow fever vaccination is required for entry into certain countries, particularly in parts of Africa and South America. Many countries require an official International Certificate of Vaccination or Prophylaxis (ICVP) as proof of vaccination before allowing entry.

Personalised Travel Health Advice

Staying healthy while travelling involves more than vaccinations. Factors such as food and water safety, insect bites, climate conditions, and travel activities can all affect your health during a trip.

Exceptional Care for Every Type of Traveller

Not everyone travels the same way, and not everyone needs the same protection. We specialise in tailoring travel health advice to your specific circumstances.

Travel with Children

Children need age-appropriate vaccines on a schedule that works before departure. We manage timing carefully, handle needle anxiety with patience, and give parents clear guidance on food safety and insect protection throughout the trip.

Pregnant & Breastfeeding Travellers

Some antimalarials are not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Your pharmacist will identify appropriate options based on your individual circumstances and destination, so you can travel without cancelling your plans or compromising your safety.

Elderly Travellers (65+)

Age, existing conditions, and current medications all affect which vaccines are suitable and how well they work. We take the time to review your full health profile before making any recommendations, so you can travel confidently at every stage of life.

Immunocompromised Travellers

A weakened immune system means live vaccines may not be suitable. We identify safe alternatives, assess destination-specific risks honestly, and coordinate with your existing care team where needed – because careful preparation means travel is still possible.

Adventure & Expedition Travellers

Remote jungles, high-altitude terrain, and off-grid expeditions demand the most comprehensive protection. We build vaccination plans covering vaccines often missed in standard consultations – including rabies, Japanese encephalitis, and region-specific risks for long-haul trips.

Frequently Asked Questions

How far in advance should I visit a travel clinic?

Ideally, 6 to 8 weeks before departure, as some vaccines require multiple doses. If your trip is sooner, still visit. We can often achieve meaningful protection with 2 to 3 weeks to go.

Both. Walk-ins are welcome. For complex itineraries with multiple vaccine requirements, booking in advance ensures enough consultation time.

Yes. We issue fit to fly certificates following a clinical assessment, for passengers travelling with a medical condition, during pregnancy, or post-surgery.

Yes. We are an authorised yellow fever centre in Southampton. The vaccine and official ICVP certificate are issued on the same day. Vaccination must be at least 10 days before travel.

A small number may be NHS-funded. Most travel vaccines are private. We provide full pricing upfront with no hidden charges.

Some vaccines and antimalarials are safe in pregnancy; live vaccines such as yellow fever and MMR are generally avoided. Our pharmacists are experienced in advising pregnant travellers. Please mention your pregnancy when booking.
