Explore the options and see what fits your lifestyle. Not sure? Bring your questions to the consultation, and we’ll help you choose the right weight loss programme.
Book a private 20–30 minute appointment at Kingsland Pharmacy, Southampton, for a BMI check, health review, and personalised plan.
We get you started, show you everything you need to know, and check in regularly to track your progress. You will not be left to figure it out alone.
Every person is unique, and so is your plan. We carefully consider your weight journey, your daily habits, any health concerns, and what’s worked for you before. Then, we create a plan that truly fits you and your life.
We offer access to clinically approved weight loss treatments, including prescription injection therapies. These are not available over the counter. They are prescribed following a proper medical assessment and are used alongside lifestyle support for the best results.
You will always speak to the same pharmacist. That matters. It means someone knows your history, notices your progress, and can spot any concerns early. It is care that feels personal because it is.
We track your progress at every stage. Weight, BMI, energy levels, and how your medication is sitting with you. If something needs adjusting, we catch it early and fix it. You are never left guessing.
Every medicine we supply follows strict clinical guidelines. We assess each patient carefully before supply. If a treatment is not suitable, we will tell you that clearly and explain why. Your safety comes before everything else.
Our weight loss journey is led by a GPhC-registered pharmacist specialised in medical weight management, ensuring expert, safe, and personalised care.
Mounjaro is a prescription-only weight loss injection available in the UK and is one of the most effective options out there. Mounjaro is suitable for adults aged 18 to 84. Suitability is confirmed at your consultation. It works gently by targeting two hormone pathways, GIP and GLP-1, helping to reduce your appetite, slow down digestion, and support healthy blood sugar levels all at once.
You give yourself a simple weekly injection at home, starting on a low dose that gradually increases so your body adjusts comfortably. If you take oral contraceptives, Mounjaro may reduce their effectiveness, so additional contraception is recommended when starting and for four weeks after each dose increase. Your pharmacist will cover everything you need to know at your consultation.
Before starting, you’ll have a full medical check-up to make sure Mounjaro is right for you. If it is, we’ll help you get started. If not, we’ll explain why and explore other options that might suit you better.
Wegovy is a weekly injection that mimics a hormone called GLP-1. This hormone tells your brain you are full, so you eat less without feeling deprived. It also slows the rate at which your stomach empties, which keeps you satisfied for longer.
Clinical studies have demonstrated that Wegovy can support significant weight loss when used alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity. Your pharmacist will discuss realistic outcomes based on your individual circumstances.
If you are planning a pregnancy, Wegovy must be stopped at least two months before trying to conceive. Neither treatment is safe during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
Like Mounjaro, Wegovy is prescription only. We assess every patient carefully before prescribing. The assessment covers your health history, current medications, and whether this treatment is the right fit for you personally.
Think of it as your body’s health report card. Before we suggest anything, we take a proper look at where you are right now.
We start with a full BMI assessment in Southampton.
BMI is a useful starting point, but it is not the whole story. A number on a scale does not tell us why your body holds onto weight, what is going on with your blood pressure, or whether a health condition like diabetes is making things harder. So we go deeper.
Your Assessment Covers:
People come to us from all kinds of starting points. Some have never tried a medical weight loss programme before. Others have tried everything and are ready to approach this differently. Whoever you are, there is a place for you here.
You might not know where to start, and that is completely normal. We will walk you through everything clearly. What the options are, how they work, what to expect, and what realistic results look like. No pressure. No jargon. Just a straight conversation about what might actually help you.
You are not a failure. Weight loss is genuinely hard for many people, and willpower alone does not explain why. Hormones, metabolism, stress, medications, and a lot of other factors play a role. Our medical weight loss service in Southampton looks at the full picture, not just your diet. If something has not worked before, that tells us something useful.
Losing weight when you have an existing health condition needs careful thought. Some treatments interact with medications. Some approaches work better than others depending on your diagnosis. Our pharmacist is qualified to look at your full medical history and recommend something that is safe and right for your specific situation.
If you have done your research and you know you want to try Mounjaro or Wegovy, great. Come in, have the assessment, and if you are suitable, we can get you started quickly. We respect that you know your own mind. We just need to make sure the treatment is clinically right for you before we prescribe it.
We check your health, weight history, and current medicines first. This helps make sure treatment is safe and suitable for you.
If appropriate, we can supply treatments such as Mounjaro or Wegovy under proper clinical review. You are not left to manage it alone.
Weight loss is not a one-off visit. We schedule check-ins to track your progress and adjust treatment if needed.
We explain how the medication works, what results to expect, and possible side effects. No hype. Just facts you can understand.
You get simple nutrition advice that fits around work and family life. No extreme plans that are hard to follow.
Appointments take place in a confidential setting. You can speak openly about weight, habits, or health concerns.
We focus on steady, sustainable weight loss. Quick drops often lead to weight regain. Slow and steady tends to last.
If you have questions about side effects, dosing, or progress, you can contact the pharmacy for guidance.
Based in Southampton, we offer in-person support rather than online-only prescribing. Some people prefer knowing who is looking after them.
Real stories from real patients who trust Kingsland Pharmacy every day.
“If they could be my doctors I’d be very happy. Always where I go before I go to the doctor and generally better advice, certainly more personal.”

“Fabulous little pharmacy. Covid and flu jabs administered brilliantly. Thank you all.”
“Had the best service. The pharmacist went out of his way to make sure we got our antibiotics when others couldn’t help us. The perfumes were also amazing, we ended up buying a few whilst we waited.”
“Cannot fault the service I receive from Kingsland Pharmacy. Staff go above and beyond to help, even though they are very busy. Thank you all 🩷”
“Excellent pharmacy, always have my orders ready on time. Very helpful with minor health issues, so save trying to see a GP.”
Wegovy is suitable for adults aged 18–74, and Mounjaro for adults aged 18–84. You may qualify with a BMI of 30 or above, or between 27–30 if you have a related condition such as high blood pressure, sleep apnoea, or prediabetes. Both treatments are not suitable for anyone with a history of eating disorders or pancreatitis. Full eligibility is confirmed at your consultation with one of our pharmacists.
No. You can book directly with us. No GP referral is required. Our weight management service is a private service delivered by our GPhC-registered pharmacist following a full clinical assessment.
Prices vary depending on the treatment and the dose. We will give you a clear breakdown of costs at your consultation before you commit to anything. There are no hidden charges.
Both are MHRA-approved and clinically trialled. The most common side effects are gastrointestinal, nausea, diarrhoea, and constipation, usually most noticeable as your dose increases. Prolonged symptoms can cause dehydration; staying well hydrated is important. Patients on sulphonylurea or insulin carry an additional risk of low blood sugar. We review your full medication list before prescribing and monitor you throughout.
Most patients notice a difference within the first four to six weeks. Meaningful weight loss typically builds over three to six months. Results vary depending on the treatment, your starting point, and your lifestyle alongside the medication.
If you manage type 2 diabetes with metformin only, you may be eligible. Any other diabetes medication requires a GP or Independent Prescriber assessment first. Type 1 diabetes is a full exclusion for both treatments.
We do not just stop and wave goodbye. We help you plan the transition off medication safely and give you the tools to maintain your weight. For some patients, a lower maintenance dose or longer-term monitoring makes sense. We work that out with you.
